Controller Support

• Controller support is here! HFI can be now be fully played with a controller, both in the Steam and Web versions. Consider this feature to be in beta; more controller types need to be tested and still need to add full Steam Input support. Note: Tooltips do not appear while using a controller and the Load Game dialog box cannot be controlled with a controller.

Farmhand

• The A Balanced Breakfast shop item now rewards a new stat: Minimum Hunger. This allows your hunger to never go below 10%!
• Reduced the power of the first Researcher book the Farmhand uses (Still starts at 20% XP and Gold, but now only grants +0.5% to each stat per edition instead of +1%)
• Reworded the Empowered Hunger perk to be a bit clearer

Squire

• Brace for Impact now doubles your Defense and reduces damage taken by 50%. (used to reduce damage by 75%) Thorns builds rejoice!
• Protect Your Vitals now rewards +5% Crit Resistance (used to be 3%)
• Deflect and Counter now rewards +3% Crit Resistance and +30% Crit Damage (used to be +1% and +20%)
• Reduced the damage variance of both Squire and enemies (higher minimum damage for both). This is intended to make combat feel a little less unpredictable.
• Reduced Crit Damage from the Researcher book to a max of +100% (used to be a max of +200%)

Researcher

• Reduced XP Per Research for a handful of perks
• Epiphany has been reworked: now a 2 min cooldown, rewards significantly more pages, and now factors in Might and the speed of active researches
• Editions past the first have a +10% increase in pages needed per chapter.
• Fully "edition completed" book will now be permanently completed. This means gold from these books is granted immediately after a rebirth.

Other Changes

• Steam Deck: If HFI is coming out of suspend it will now reward offline progression as if the game was fully shut down.
• Unskilled Labor + Grit and Determination had their eligibility criteria resolved.
• A few fixed misc bugs.
